Mediapolis Education Foundation History

Founded

The Mediapolis Education Foundation (MEF), a non-profit tax exempt 501 (c)(3) IRS corporation, was established in 1986, by interested citizens of the school community with the support of the Board of Education.

Mission

To enrich and strengthen the quality of education and promote academic excellence in the Mediapolis Community School District.

Description

The Mediapolis Education Foundation provides financial support to the Mediapolis Community School District in the pursuit of extended educational and learning opportunities. It is operated independently of the school system, and is meant to enrich and strengthen the quality of education and promote academic excellence in our district.

Funding

The tax revenue allotted for education by state and federal governments is neither used nor replaced by the MEF. Instead, the Mediapolis Education Foundation raises private funds to supplement these tax dollars to enrich the quality of education in our community’s public school.
